Last week was chock full of good news. Even though the old media concentrated on Obama and Hillary's ongoing 'gotcha' campaign, lots of news, that went unreported, indicate that all is not as bad as the left would have you believe:

Good News:

First off, its official. The Bible is still the most popular and best selling book in America. Secondly, new data indicates that global temperatures are cooling. Bad news for Father Earth, Algor. Newsbusters reported that Algore admitted (the obvious) that he has a 'stake' in a number of investments that he recommends investors put their money into. Who'd a thunk? Al Gore making a profit?? That should be enough to get him expelled from the left. I won't hold my breath.

More good news on two hotbutton issues, guns and immigration. The Supreme Court dealt a final blow to San Francisco's ban on handguns and Florida lawmakers passed a "Take Your Gun To Work" law. Awaiting Gov. Crist's approval.

Mass deportations are coming for jailed illegal immigrants as Homeland Security launches a nation-wide effort to identify and deport the estimated 300,000 to 450,000 illegals currently living on the taxpayers dime in American prisons. Immigration efforts to date are having an effect as Mexico is starting to complain about feeding and housing all the repatriated Mexicans. Cry me a river.

All this doesn't set well with San Franciscans. The city by the bay is publishing multilanguage brochures and flooding the airwaves with ads assuring illegals that San Francisco will not report them to federal immigration authorities. I'm doing my bit by passing this info along to all the illegal Mexican workers I know here in South Carolina.

We're making inroads in the war on terror. A leading international terrorism expert reports al-Qaeda's battle against the U.S. has been a failure and the organization is in decline. The head of the FBI states that the West can achieve victory over al-Qaeda in three and a half years. The media was too busy reporting that Hillary drank a beer on the campaign trail to report on our ongoing progress against the bad guys. As usual, I got this news from foreign press.

A new poll indicates that only 29% of Americans want nationalized health care overseen by the government, and in Louisiana, castration could be an option for some sex offenders under a bill approved by a state Senate judiciary committee. Ouch.

With the rising cost of food (Thank-you, algore), all those farmers getting government handouts not to grow crops, are suddenly realizing that they can make more money by cashing in on the boom in wheat, soybeans, corn and other crops caused by the ethanol boom, than they can make by pocketing our tax dollars. Looks like the market system trumps government 'solutions' once again.

And for our younger generation, news that will put a bounce in your step: Mobile phones, iPods and other consumer devices may soon be able to hold a hundred times more information than they now do. Just imagine, pretty soon you can have 500,000 songs in your iPod. Thanks to good old American ingenuity.

Last, but not least: You may recall the anti-Islam film 'Fitna' that caused such a ruckus last week. A district court in the Hague has ruled that MP Gert Wilder's film comparing Islam with fascism is permissible.

The Loony Left:

Former President, Jimmy Carter, is winging his way to Syria to talk with terror group, Hamas. You know, the organization that the U.S. considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world. Though his visit was condemned by the State Department, Carter forged ahead, still believing that reasoning with those barbarians will result in a solution. Just because it hasn't worked for, oh, twenty five years or more doesn't faze Carter. This is called 'cognitive dissonance.' Israel, on Sunday, snubbed him big time. Good deal. I will too, if I ever meet him.

Meanwhile, Obama is calling for a, get this, "diplomatic surge," including talks with Iran. The very same Iran that, this week, offered to put its controversial nuclear program and expertise at the service of all Muslim states. Again, this incredible offer escaped the notice of the media. Hat tip to Neal's Nuze.

If anyone still has any doubts that Obama is a radical, left wing Marxist, one need only listen to this excellent video compilation of Obama, in his own words. Pretty scary stuff. Lest I forget, Obama's pastor, Rev. Wright,  has taken up where he left off, lambasting America's founding fathers  for slavery and white supremacism. Oh, and he has also accepted an invitation to be keynote speaker at some NAACP function. Continuing silence from Camp Obama.

Bin Laden's right hand man and one of the world's most dangerous terrorist is preparing for a life on the dole, partaking of lavish British benefits after a judge ruled that his deportation would breach human-rights law.

In hopes of leaving you with a smile on your face:

Dubai's crown prince bought a camel for the unprecedented price of $2.7 million bucks. He just couldn't resist after seeing this pretty during a camel beauty pageant in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. I hope they will be very happy.

If you're still not smiling, just read this: "You Know You're A Redneck When:"

Till next Monday,
