Obamamania continues to sweep the country, with
a new Harris poll showing Obama trumps Jesus as most admired. Meanwhile the market continues its alarming decline. Myself and others are starting
to question the series of supposedly random but arguably deliberate chain of events
that have brought America to the brink of socialism. Was this
A Contrived Crisis? - You Decide.
United Nations officials acknowledged on Thursday that Iran has built up a stockpile
of enough enriched uranium for one nuclear bomb. Meanwhile,
Obama announced that he will cut spending on the military.
GOOD NEWS:
Its not all gloom and doom. At least 11 states have decided that Obama's brand of
“hope” equates to an intolerable expansion of the federal government’s authority
over the states and have adopted resolutions declaring sovereignty under the 10th
Amendment.
Obama had rough sledding when facing some surprisingly astute high-schoolers. "I just
don't believe all the things he's telling us. His goal is just too big and broad."
said Miller, 18.
Maybe it is true that you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
More protest of Obama's policies as a CNBC host went on a rant against administration
plans to bail-out deadbeat homeowners. "The government is promoting bad behaviour...do
we really want to subsudize the loser's mortgages? How about we all quit paying
our
mortgages.....President Obama are you listening?" See video here.
A California man, who spent four days in a coma and was about to be disconnected from life support, is now on his
way to making a full recovery. Miracles do happen.
The federal government is funding a $5 million national media campaign that launches this month,
extolling the virtues of marriage for those ages 18 to 30.
A measure approved by the North Dakota House gives a fertilized human egg the legal
rights of a human being, a step that would essentially
ban abortion in the state.
In a show of conservative principles, Louisiana's Bobby Jindal, a Republican, became
the first governor Friday to refuse officially a part of his state's share of the
$787 billion stimulus bill.
GOVERNMENT AT WORK:
Meanwhile, we find out that thousands of government workers have not paid their
2007 taxes. We're talking billions of dollars. This, as governors are scrambling
to find new things to tax. NY Governor Paterson wants to tax nondiet soda, iTunes
downloads and even haircuts are well known. But did you know he also wants to tax
your tax filings?
Speaking of Paterson, he secretly granted raises of as much as 46 percent to more
than a dozen staffers at a time when he has asked 130,000 state workers to give
up 3 percent pay hikes because of the state's fiscal crisis.
Five Oregon state lawmakers want to impose a hefty tax on beer and have introduced
a bill that brewers say would cripple them. 1,900% increase.
Remember Obama's promise of transparency? He has reneged. A review of Federal Register issuances since Obama took office
found three executive orders, one presidential
memorandum, one presidential notice, and one proclamation that went unannounced
by the White House.
CULTURE:
George Mason University students have elected a drag queen as homecoming queen.
Student Ryan Allen beat out two women for the title at the 30,000-student school
in suburban Washington, D.C. Ah, the quest to be progressive...
Poverty rights activists broke into at least a dozen vacant Minneapolis buildings
this week and helped homeless families move in. (poverty rights???) Meanwhile, far-left
scandal-ridden ACORN is holding classes in how to prevent foreclosures. This is
on our dime, guys.
A jury
found an Arizona rancher liable on four claims of assault and infliction
of emotional distress for detaining illegal aliens on his land, and ordered him
to pay $77,804 in damages. $60,000 of that was for punitive damages. Hey, maybe
I should become an illegal, or a victim, or a loser. They're the ones winning the
government lotto these days.
The NAACP and race hustler Al Sharpton are so hard up for victims of racism that
they've had to resort to mounting a full scale protest of this New Yorker cartoon.
(A parody of the chimp that went wild and attacked his owner).
A new study has suggested that morality is not a uniquely
human quality -- even monkeys have a sense of it and the rudimentary ability to
differentiate between right and wrong.
Before I sign off, I'll leave you with a fascinating article written by a math and
science teacher in Maine. (He's also my brother) He manages to describe
'700 Billion Dollars' in ways I'm sure you never imagined.
Maybe this little video will leave you with a smile on your face.
It shows a dog who says 'mama'.
