Obama was in Egypt last week for his latest 'Muslim outreach' campaign. In his speech,
here, he stated "The U.S. is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world." Huh?
FYI: This map shows the countries with large Muslim populations,
and the U.S. isn't one of them. The media yawned before 'moving on'.
Blatantly foregoing any semblance of objectivity, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian
Williams actually bowed to Obama, and Newsweek editor Evan Thomas declared on MSNBC: "I mean in a way Obama’s
standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God." Americans
should be very scared.
Obama finished his tour with a stop in Paris. Following his policy of dissing our
allies while kowtowing to our enemies, Obama declined to dine with French President Sarkozy, opting instead
for a Parisian restaurant that was understandably insulted that Obama opted to have
a 'food taster'.
Meanwhile his cohorts in Congress continued their efforts to consolidate even more
power to the federal government. Even though the last two 'emergency' stimulus plans
seem to have only made the economy worse, Democrats in Congress vowed to step
up the 'stimulus spending, while casting about for ever more taxable income.
GOVERNMENT AT WORK:
Since Obama has been in power, the economy has lost 2.19 million jobs. The bright spot: Wal-Mart, that bastion
of capitalism, announced they were opening 150 more stores
while adding
22,000 more jobs in 2009. The media, of course, remained silent. Is it a
coincidence that the most successful company in America is not unionized?
Dems continue crafting a trillion dollar health care overhaul but are being very
stingy with the details. The few details known indicate that under this new plan,
employers will be required to offer health insurance or be fined.
Also under consideration: taxing health care benefits. Oh, and states are taking
another look at laws that would require you to be financially responsible for your
parents. Can you spell fascism?

Burger King is taking heat for their global warming sign |
Congress is also hard at work enacting a climate change bill, completely ignoring,
the third annual International Conference on Climate Change hosted by the
Heartland Institute, which offered, gasp, dissenting scientific views on global
warming. The media also ignored this conference, along with the new NASA study showing climate change is more likely caused
by the sun than by man.
IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman announced Thursday that he is considering requiring income-tax preparers to be licensed in order to
increase compliance with the law and to ensure high ethical standards. Oh, and the
Obama administration plans to appoint a "Special Master for Compensation" (pay czar) to ensure that
companies receiving federal bailout funds are abiding by executive-pay guidelines.
Remember the "shovel-ready" projects lined up for all that stimulus money? Turns
out the money is going to social programs instead of construction projects.
Despite quadrupling the deficit, team Obama is preparing to lend $106 billion to the IMF to bailout, well, whichever country
has the most persuasive lobbyists. They're also sending another $200 million of our tax dollars to help out Pakistani
refugees.
Obama has tossed out a rule that limited access to lawyers for immigrants.
His administration is also setting up a program for Gitmo detainees to get laptops - ostensibly to prepare them for life on
the outside. One only hopes Google Earth isn't installed on them. Sigh.
CULTURE:
Harvard University will endow a visiting professorship in lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender studies, a position that, it believes, will be the first endowed, named
chair in the subject at an American college.
Fox is developing a wedding reality series where brides-to-be don’t meet their husbands
until they exchange vows.
ESSENTIAL TRIVIA:
A man's chances of dying early
are cut by a fifth if their bride is between 15 and 17 years
their junior. The risk of premature death is reduced by 11 per cent if they marry
a woman seven to nine years younger. Hmmm

his life will change for the better?

Check out these young conservatives. Their
rap video is making quite a splash.
Hope to have better news next
week. Till then, keep smiling,
